Behind the Scenes: What I'm Building and What's Next

Behind the Scenes: What I'm Building and What's Next

When I launched The Therapy Show, I had one simple goal: to create conversations that would help therapists learn, grow, and feel a little less alone in this profession.

I never imagined where that decision would lead.

Over the years, the podcast has grown into something much bigger than I expected. It has introduced me to incredible guests, opened doors to meaningful partnerships, and ultimately led me to become an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider and create Podcourses so therapists can earn CE while listening on the go.

Lately, though, I've been reflecting on what comes next.

Growth Doesn't Always Mean Doing More

As therapists, we spend so much time helping our clients navigate change, but we don't always give ourselves permission to evolve.

At some point, many of us begin asking questions like:

  • What kind of work gives me the most energy?

  • Where can I make the biggest impact?

  • What do I want the next chapter of my career to look like?

I've been asking myself those same questions.

What I've realized is that growth doesn't always mean adding more projects or working longer hours. Sometimes it means becoming more intentional and focusing on the work that feels most aligned with your experience, strengths, and values.

The Therapy Show Isn't Going Anywhere

If you've been wondering whether things are changing around here, the answer is yes, but in the best way.

I'll continue bringing expert guests to the show and creating practical continuing education for mental health professionals. I'm also excited to include more solo episodes where I can share what's happening behind the scenes, lessons I've learned from building a business, and conversations about navigating a long-term career in mental health.

Sometimes we need clinical knowledge.

Other times, we simply need to hear from someone walking a similar path.

I hope these solo episodes provide both encouragement and practical insight.

A New Project Inspired by My Own Story

One of the biggest updates I share in this episode is something deeply personal.

Growing up, my father was convicted of a white-collar crime and served time in federal prison. While the legal case received attention, our family's emotional experience often went unseen.

That experience shaped me in ways I didn't fully understand until years later.

Today, after nearly two decades as a therapist, I'm combining my professional experience with my personal story to create resources for spouses, partners, and families navigating the emotional impact of a white-collar legal crisis.

It's different from the work I do through The Therapy Show, but it feels like the natural intersection of my lived experience and my clinical background.

Permission to Evolve

If there's one message I hope you take away from this episode, it's this:

You don't have to stay in the same professional lane forever.

You can continue seeing clients while creating courses.

You can teach, write, podcast, consult, or build something entirely new.

Your career doesn't have to fit into one box.

The work you're meant to do today may look very different from what you imagined five or ten years ago and that's okay.

In fact, it might be exactly where you're supposed to be.

Listen to the Episode

In this solo episode of The Therapy Show, I share what's been happening behind the scenes, why I've been reflecting on the next phase of my career, and the new project I'm building that has become deeply meaningful to me.

Whether you're a therapist thinking about your own next chapter or simply curious about what I've been working on, I hope you'll join me for this conversation.

I'd love to hear what resonated with you. After you listen, connect with me on social media or send me a message through my website and let me know: What does your next chapter look like?
